boomerang awards 2013 nightThe Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines does not only aim to shape the future of digital marketing in the country. For seven long years the IMMAP has also been awarding recognition for exceptional digital campaigns. Along with the launch of the first IMMAP Summit in 2008, the Boomerang Awards also saw its first debut.

This year the Boomerang Awards 2013 will be held on August 30 at The Loft, Manansala, in Rockwell Center, Makati City. It is truly another anticipated event dedicated to give recognition to the most brilliant digital campaigns the country has seen.

Boomerang Awards in the Previous Years

Since its launch in 2008, IMMAP’s Boomerang Awards has become to be one of the highly anticipated events of each calendar year among industry practitioners and professionals. Last year, Boomerang received more than 150 entries from various agencies, platforms and industries. In the end, the Gold Boomerang 2012 was given to two of the most outstanding campaigns: Coca-Cola’s Where Will Happiness Strike Next: The OFW Project from MRM Worldwide and the Department of Tourism’s It’s More Fun in the Philippines from BBDO Guerrero. And such outstanding works have also received recognitions from the most prestigious competitions around the world.

These two have absolutely raised the bar to a whole new level and they may be a tough act to follow. But IMMAP has already received over 120 entries and more is to be expected as submission draws to a close on August 12.

What Deserves a Boomerang?

Submissions are judged according to three categories: 30 percent for strategy, another 30 percent for creativity of execution and a bigger chunk of 40 percent for results or impact to business. All entries will be duly screened and reviewed. From this criteria, the IMMAP selected Board of Jurors shall determine who receives the Bronze, Silver and the highly coveted Gold Boomerang.

The Boomerang Awards 2013 aims to put more emphasis on effectiveness in line with the 7th IMMAP Summit’s theme, Digital Marketing: Trending towards ROI. Creativity is highly encouraged but in the end, it is all about achieving real results that meet business objectives. The Effectivity Awards shall be presented to digital campaigns that have successfully cultivated awareness, strengthen engagement, boosted trial, built lead generation or database acquisition, applied sentiment improvement and driven sales.

What Difference Does the Boomerang Awards Make?

The Boomerang Awards is fairly new. However, its role and impact in the industry is becoming more and more apparent year after year. IMMAP organized the Boomerang Awards for the purpose of driving confidence, encouraging big and bold digital campaigns and inspiring more effective and successful marketing programs using digital tools.

More than giving credit to which is due, the Boomerang Awards aim to provide a friendly competition among practitioners and professionals of digital marketing that shall pave way to more creative and effective campaigns. With this effort, the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines through the Boomerang Awards hopes to shape and push digital marketing in the country towards a brighter future.
