Social Media Influencers Summit 2013 Cebu – March 16, 2013

Bloggers, community managers, students and social media enthusiasts are all invited to be part of the Social Media Influencers Summit 2013. This event will be staged for the first time ever on March 16, at the JCenter Convention Center of JCenter Mall, Mandaue City, Cebu.

The goal of the event is to promote social media responsibility. Key speakers will be top industry leaders who will share best practices and talk about online ethics. The event also hopes to set standards for online users. The event is organized by iNewMedia Online Network in cooperation with Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. (CBSi). The Summit is set to become an annual event, with goals of helping social media influencers all over the country set ethical online standards and help these influencers reach and influence their target audience.

Resource speakers of the event

The main speakers of the event will be prominent personalities in the social media industry. Keynote speaker is Maria A. Ressa, currently CEO and Executive Editor of the social news network and has been a journalist for more than 25 years, being associated to powerful networks such as CNN and ABS-CBN.

Other speakers are social media influencers from various sectors of the society including Tonyo Cruz, Anthony Orais Leuterio, Chris Ducker, Kevin Ray Chua, Jonha Ducayag Revesencio, Vic Marion Madriaga, Maria Irene ASerios, Mary Jane Cabrera, Hannah Almira Amora, Atty. Ethelbert Ouano, Janette Toral, Fitz Gerard Villafuerte, Leah Besa-Jimenez, Avel Manansala, and Lisa Marie Mirasol. The speakers will tackle issues about using the online platform for politics, business, spreading success stories, sharing advocacies, and using media for social change.


“Trending Forward”

The theme of the Social Media Influencers Summit is “#Trending Forward”. The event aims to convene leaders in the youth sector, business sector, government institutions and the academe and unite them to achieve one goal. The goal is to spread the cause of this event and make it a trending topic in social networks. It is a collective effort that aims to create a buzz that will hopefully influence people to use social media wisely and ethically.

1. Dr. Narciso Tapia Kidney Transplant Fund – help raise funds for one of the members of the Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. who is battling a rare disease and is set to undergo a major operation.

2. World Vision – A non-profit global organization that provides calamity relief, community development and youth empowerment to help people and communities overcome poverty and injustice.

3. Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. – a premiere blogging organization that promotes “social media users responsibility”.


Event Organizers

Social Media Influencers Summit 2013 was organized by iNewMedia Online Network. It is an organization comprised of individuals and businesses involved in SEO, digital marketing, and social media marketing. The Co-organizers are members of the Cebu Bloggers Society Inc., group of bloggers from Cebu committed to promoting the culture of their city, who also actively use their blogs to promote social change.
