Who is Marc Macalua?

Being an Internet marketer myself, I understand that one of the most difficult and most trying stages of setting up an online business is beginning it. If you are clueless and you are not really sure if you are doing it right, it will be helpful to select your own online marketing “hero.” This hero will be your model or pattern. Though it is not suggested to mimic his every step, it is always enlightening to have an idol.

My Personal Online Marketing Hero

If you ask me, my personal online marketing hero is Marc Macalua. He is my personal idol in the business because of his extraordinary skills and leadership capabilities. He currently leads an army of Internet marketers who are buying and selling auto parts online via USAutoParts.com. As of the moment, he has more than 130 internet marketers under his wing.

Currently, he is the Vice President for Marketing of US Auto Parts here in the Philippines. In the past, he founded SEO Philippines. He also led IMV Solutions, wherein he was a Managing Director. On top of that, he also held the position Director of Development at ePacific Global Contact Center.

Marc Macalua at a Glance

Known to his peers and contemporaries for his being proactive, he stood out as a leader in digital or online marketing. His track record in this field here in the Philippines is difficult to match – he is always on the go. He successfully delivers cost-effective, creative, and profitable solutions using the Internet. Years back, I can recall that the World Wide Web was not a very attractive place in for marketing here in the Philippines. Marc Macalua was successful to prove that it can be done.

Marc Macalua can be considered as an expert in leading any team consisting of people with different functional and cultural backgrounds. His expertise lies on internet retailing, search engine optimization, culture evangelism, strategic management, project management, PPC, UX, CSE, information architecture, email marketing, content development, ecommerce strategic, among others.

Best of all, I learned that he did not solely learn these stuff from his alma mater, Ateneo de Manila University. Most of these concepts and principles, he was able to master by constant exposure to the real thing – his expertise therefore is founded on years of experience.

What Pushed Him to the Top?

Mark Calua successfully entered and conquered an unfamiliar field using the basics that he knows about the World Wide Web and marketing. He has been working for US Auto Parts since May 2006. The company is a big one and he is bestowed with the responsibility of managing the digital or online marketing initiatives and operations of the company.

His proactive nature pushed him to the top. This paved the way for him to be trusted enough to be handed the crucial responsibility of drafting a strategy, executing, and analyzing all online efforts of the company. Being the VP for Marketing in the Philippines, he works in close coordination with US counterparts.

With persistence and constant honing of skills, he reached the top. I believe that I can too, someday. And it is not far from possible that you will reach new heights in internet marketing, too.

So choose an idol whose steps you will follow. I chose to follow Marc Calua’s footsteps.
