How to Increase your Website Opt in List

Opt-in lists are basically the people who have consented to be part of your newsletter. It’s actually a great marketing strategy since you have a ready number of people to advertise to whenever there’s a sale, updates or new products. Starting an opt-in list however takes time especially if you’re new in the industry. Here are some techniques that might get you started.

 

Use an Autoresponder

An autoresponder makes sure that your target market will receive an email the minute they consent to be part of the list. Most people actually prefer this method since it verifies their position.

Highlight the Important Parts!

Prior to getting people in the list, you first need to provide them a good reason for it. This is where a Sales Page comes in. One good marketing strategy to make sure that your clients actually pay attention to the Sales Page is by highlighting the important parts. See, the Sales Page can be quite long and most people just scroll through it. By creating focal points and bullets throughout the page thought, you make sure that visitors at least get the gist of the matter.

Give a Little Something

Freebies are always welcome and this is the best way for you to accumulate opt-ins. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, perhaps a 10-page eBook or greeting cards will do. It really depends on the type of service or product you intend to sell to your opt-in list. One thing to keep in mind is that you only send the bonus after the client has sent the confirmation email.

Don’t Give it All Away!

The whole point of being part of an opt-in is to receive updates about a specific product or service in the future. Therefore, it would be very irresponsible for you to give away all the trade secrets in the newsletter or your hook article. It’s important to tell them what they are bound to find out and how it will be useful to them BUT only give actual data once they’re in your list.

Send Something Worthwhile

Of course, opt-in lists aren’t a onetime thing. These are the people you’ll be sending additional information to in an effort to market your product. Once you’ve got people in your list, the next goal is to make sure that they stay there. How can this be done? By sending them something that’s actually worth reading! Also, don’t underestimate the power of forwarding. If you’ve sent information worth hearing, chances are your opt-in list would want to spread it around.

Blast your Information

Your website and social media marketing accounts are good places to entice people into opting in your newsletter. However, don’t ignore other places too such as Ezine Articles, Forum sites and YouTube. Each of those has Filipinos buzzing in and out, allowing you further exposure without additional cost.

Buying a list can be a great start, but it’s not really advisable. See, lists for sale typically contain a mix market that means only a small percentage of those will actually be interested. For best results, you should try starting with the people you already have in your FB pages or Twitter followers!
