Reading, Learning and Testing – It’s the Secret!

Creativity is what differentiates marketers from sellers.  As one of them, you need to optimize your creative side to come up with unique ways of promoting your business.  But, remember that your creative efforts may not see immediately quantifiable results.

Keeping your audience in mind, you can put your ideas to a test to get an idea of the kind of response to expect.  Through this, you can also set realistic standards as to the returns to expect from your creative marketing initiatives.  Here is how you can capitalize on the creative ideas that you have.

Reading

Coming up with an idea and implementing it immediately could turn out to be pointless.  You need to at least have a concrete basis for validation.  By reading business literature, you’ll be able to gather facts.  These facts support a certain idea whether it was successful or not.  Invest in resources that will enable you to do case analysis and to keep abreast of the best practices in your industry.  In all probability, the most inventive ideas that proved to be successful came from scribbles and scratches on the drawing board.  You can learn from the most successful enterprises and cut down on making mistakes in your own endeavors.  Read about successful and not-so successful stories and see how certain ideas have been a detriment or have been helpful.

Learning

Understanding what you have read is not enough for you to get going.  Based on a creative idea you have in mind, try coming up with projected challenges, time-based goals, and approaches.  The learning part comes when you are able to integrate the things you have read and the things you have in mind into a business plan.  Brainstorming is an integral part of the learning process because you are able to determine the “soundness” of your ideas.  Similarly, you can learn from the people behind big businesses.  This includes their idea-generation techniques, frustrations, successes, and the steps they have taken to make their own business plans successful.  Once you have designed a good business plan in mind, you are ready to move on the next phase.

Testing

This phase determines whether your business plan is successful or not.  If it is, you can seek ways to expand and incorporate it into the other parts of your business line.  If your initial testing fails, find out why and think of possible solutions.  It can mean coming up with a totally new business plan, so be prepared for alternative solutions.

Some Filipino entrepreneurs simply give up if their business plans fail.  But, the Filipino spirit is known to be resilient.  While we scuffle to keep up with the rest of the world in terms of technology, the Filipino’s indomitable spirit persists.  So never give up testing.  Re-test if you have to as long as you see a potential in your business plan.  If it helps, check how successful websites like sulit.com and pinoyexchange.com have attained their current status.

Once you are able to integrate all three steps in your life as an online marketer, you are on your way to coming up with more inventive measures to get your business running along with the most profitable online businesses.
